Made in Ireland | メイド・イン・アイルランド

On the other day, I bought a new dental floss. I was at a fast food place and getting rid of waste (package, receipt, etc) that I didn't want to carry and take home with me.

I rarely look at where a dental floss comes from.

When I saw the back of the floss, it said "Made in Ireland."

I was surprised at what I found – living in a nearly-everything-is-made-in-china era makes me forget another fact that we are also living in a great-global-economy era.

ある日、デンタルフロスを買った日のこと。僕はファストフードの店でいらないパッケージやら買い物のレシートを家に持って帰りたくないので整理していた。

滅多に買ったデンタルフロスがどこ製かなんてチェックしないのに、なんとなく気になって見たらそれはアイルランド製だった。

発見したことに驚いた。日頃見るほぼ全てのものが「Made in China」の刻印を押された商品に慣れすぎているため、グローバルな経済の時代でもあることを忘れさせられていた。
