Osaka Day 3

I woke up with a phone ring around 10:30 am. My dad was at home, too, but he was also sleeping. No one didn't pick up the phone. I wondered if that was from a job that I applied online.

My friend from senior high, Y, called me and we decided to meet later today.

I spent afternoon with doing nothing and did little no weights work out at home. My sleepiness from jet lag came in around 5. I was supposed to meet him, so I was planning to go to one of the busiest city centres in Osaka, Umeda, and walked to my friend's naeighbourhood near the Osaka Castle Park.

When I arrived at Osaka station by taking Kintetsu and JR Osaka loop line, it was after a rush hour. There are still so many people. I wanted to window shop a little bit, but it was a little too late and I didn't want to feel rush, so I decided not to go to any stores. Instead, I just walked where I went when I was living there.

There were too many people, so I started to feel sick a little bit. I walked toward east. going through Sonezaki, underground shopping paths, Doyama-cho, and Hankyu Higashi Dori. I ended up sitting on an artificial rock that was part of a public art at the Ohgi-machi park. I called Y with my mom's cell phone. He wanted me to come to Tamatsukuri where he lives. I asked if I can walk there, but I soon realised that it takes a little longer. I decided to take subway.

Subway Sakaisuji line runs through a street that goes through one of Osaka's financial and business districts. Until I reached a station where I changed train to Nagahori-Tsurumi Ryokuchi line, Many office people in their suits got on from each station. I imagined if I were a business man. I took a totally different path in my life. Soon, I thought it is nonsense to think about it. I started to read Murakami's.

In a big city in Japan, there are always neighbourhoods that you have never been even though you live in the city. Tamatsukuri was one of them for me. When I came up from a subway exit, I lost a sense of direction, but I tried to scan signs around it and I could find JR Tamatsukuri station.

Y was at a tiny eatery near JR Tamatsukuri station. His look was exactly the same as when I saw him last time. T and S joined later. Everyone looked the same. We had Yebisu beer and pizzas. We enjoyed our conversations, but Y pointed out that I still talk quite negatively and way I talk and behave weren't changed at all.

After a nice drinking, I managed to catch a last train home in Higashiosaka around the midnight.
