Osaka – Chatting with a gay tourist from Australia

I chatted with a tourist from Australia. As I was chatting with him, I started to realise that his purpose of visit Japan is rather to have "fun" with gay Japanese than simply enjoying sightseeings. The fact made me a little sad. lol

The tourist asked me the places where gay people hang out in Osaka. I am originally from Osaka, but I don't know much about my own hometown's gay scenes. I suggested him to go to Doyama (a gay district in Osaka) or a bar that I have been twice or so with my ex. This guy started to complained that 1500 yen (about 15 Can$) is too expenisive although I don't know Australian standards. I just thought – it's only 1500 yen and visiting Japan, why don't you try it anyway?

And then, this guy started to complain about the language difference. I got irritated by hearing him. He complained that nobody speaks English in Osaka. I was like "what the hell are you talking about? After all, you are visiting Japan!"

Generally speaking, I personally think that people from English-speaking countries are a little too arrogant about the language – not-caring about a local language or why don't they try to use a little local language? Anyway, I said to him, "Good Luck!" and he left.

"You are in Japan!"

It is way far from perfect, but we do have English signs for international visitors. I am fed up with arrogance of those foreign visitors or residents in Japan.

Wow, that is kinda sad. I mean ok go ahead if you want to travel somewhere and you happen to get laid, it's a bonus. Then to top it off he doesn't want to spend the money, and can't stand the language barrier....blah blah fucking blah..

Why the hell did he leave home? ;)

The guy sounds like an idiot tourist -- from Australia, via Texas :)

Loving the travel stories and photos!
