Broadcasting via air wave will be all digital in Japan in 2011.
This means that the current analog TV tuner will be useless.

"...but I just bought a new TV a few years ago!"

Sorry, but you need to replace with a TV with digital TV tuner, get a digital TV tuner, or simply subscribe to cable TV.

Cable TV networks in Japan are not efficient at all because we just enjoy TV shows with commercials via air wave.

My mom called: "We need to buy a new TV for year 2011."

I: "...but you subscribe to cable TV."

My mom: "I am thinking about subscribing fibre optic services..."

I: "You don't need that service because you don't use the Internet." "Wait until I get back home next year. I will pick the best TV/service for you."

It may generate serious problems to the people like my parents.
(Who gets money from this business? F**kin' government's decision.)

Year 2011 would be a shit show in Japan?
