I have driven a car about for year when I lived in Texas.
I feel strange now with the fact that I used to drive.
A 18-year-old, short, baby faced Japanese boy drove a tiny Ford Festiva in a big state.
When in attempts to acquire Texas driver's license, I borrowed a car from other Japanese students who attended the same community college that I attended. In Texas, you bring your own car to take a driving test.
Actually, I have even borrowed a huge Pontiac sport car, Thunder Bird (I think, I am not sure about the car's name). This was totally foolish that a beginner driver drove the Pontiac to parallel park the car.
At the third attempt (or so), I passed the driving test and got driver's license. I passed the test with Toyota Tarcel. It was back in 1995.
The introduction is too long now.
As of today, I don't drive at all. I don't even have a license (it was expired long time ago). Just to be sure, I am writing this only from pedestrian's point of view then.
About drivers in Toronto:
I think they are very rude.
When they face to a jam, honk honk honk.
Honk honk honk, here and there.
Where are you going in such a hurry.
I didn't see this bad even in New York City.
At the intersection near my house:
A car couldn't advance because it was jammed in front and the car was stuck in the middle of the intersection.
Bad driver A: Advancing into intersection even though there is a jammed traffic in front of it.
Pedestrians started to cross the street, so the car that was stuck in the middle couldn't go both back and forth.
Bad driver B: Hoking IMMEDIATELY at the car that is stuck in the middle.
I think a driver in the car in the middle would get panicked a little.
Finally, a male pedestrian who was crossing the street started to shout at the car that honked:
"Shut the f☆◎k up, you asshole!!!"
I thought,
I agree with you!
I understand the frustration that car can't move forward, but can't you wait a little bit?
Please!
I have seen the same kind of scenery every so often.
Toronto's drivers are very rude!
