Bike Share in Montréal
BIXI, a bike share system in Montréal. While we were looking at bikes and it's machines, set at a corner of streets in Montréal, a local man came by and he explained BIXI to us. He sounded very proud of the fact that bicycles are made in Québec.
I have seen a bicycle from bike share in Toronto, too, but I don't know how to use it because there is no sign, explanations, instructions. Moreover, the bike is North American that it doesn't have brake bar and we need to rotate the pedals in the opposite way to lock rear wheel when stopping. I have seen those bikes only in front of Mountain Equipment Co-op store in Toronto.
Compared to Montréal, Toronto doesn't get many tourists, but I thought BIXI would be very popular for Torontonians and tourists because Toronto is rather flat. While I was thinking like that, I walked down on the hill to downtown Montréal.
