City of Toronto Workers will go into a strike (isn't it too often??).
Details and solutions of the affective service is the following (source: Toronto Star)

GARBAGE
All curbside residential garbage, recycling and green bin collection cancelled, except in Etobicoke, where service is contracted out. Apartments and condos are excepted, because they’re usually contracted out.
Backup: Residents are asked to store their garbage, including organic materials, for the first week. If desired, it can be dropped off, double-bagged, for free at transfer stations. Bermondsey (near Eglinton and Victoria Park), and Ingram (at Keele St.), will be open 24/7. Five other transfer stations — Commissioners, Disco, Dufferin, Scarborough and Victoria Park — will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Additional drop-off locations will be announced if the strike goes beyond five days.

DAYCARE CENTRES
All 57 city-run daycare centres will be closed.
Backup: Parents are on their own.

ISLAND FERRY SERVICE
Service cancelled (except to island airport).
Backup: Special arrangements will be made for island residents only.

PARKS AND RECREATION
Parks will be open for casual use, but no grounds maintenance. All programming cancelled, including summer camps, classes, drop-ins and lessons. City golf courses, wading and swimming pools, fitness and community centres will close. All city programming in school pools will be cancelled. Some splash pads on automated timers may operate.
Backup: You’re on your own.

PUBLIC LIBRARIES
Branches remain open except five that use city facililties: Armour Heights, Flemingdon Park, St. James Town, Todmorden Room and Port Union. Branches at city hall and Metro Hall open, but with adjusted hours.
Backup: Visit a different branch if yours is closed.

TAXES
Property taxes must still be paid on the due dates. Drop boxes in civic centres will not be available.
Backup: Pay through the mail, your bank or drop boxes in public library branches.

WEDDINGS
Permits for wedding photos in city parks will be cancelled. Wedding facilities at East York, Scarborough and York civic centres closed. Only previously scheduled ceremonies at North York Civic Centre will continue.
Backup: Wedding ceremonies at Toronto City Hall will continue during regular business hours.

PARKING
Enforcement will continue; deadlines to pay tickets will not be extended. No new permits will be issued.
Backup: Parking tickets incurred while waiting for a permit will be cancelled when you get permit.
