素面 | Sober

しらふと入力して変換すると素面と出てきた。
漢字があったんだと無知ながら感心する。

８月１１日（火）、アンダーワールドのコンサートに行ってきた。場所はオンタリオ湖に近いダウンタウン、トロントの有名なクラブ、Guvernmentの一角でKool Hausというところ。Kool Hausには何回かコンサートで来ていたが、今回一番楽しめたんじゃないだろうか。

実は今週と来週は夜勤週間、休みを取ってまで行った。

All Ageイベントの割にスタートは遅く、開場しても１時間ほどは準備の音楽の垂れ流し、その後前座が始まった。この前座も面白いことをしていたと思うけれど、１時間は少し長過ぎた。待ちくたびれてようやく当人達が現れた。

さて、初めて見るKarl HydeとRick Smith。２人とも垢抜けた感じでとってもいい感じだった。

実は、Beaucoup Fishのアルバム（いまだによく聴く）までしか知らず、少々不安だったけれど、最近のものも、聴いてもいいかなと思わせる感じで、明日iTunesで買ってしまいそうな勢いはアーティストの思うつぼである。

最後の方で、２０代だろうか男の集団が必要以上に暴れだし、周りの人に当たりだした。その集団の近くにいた僕は勢いづいて「押さないで」と怒鳴ったが、周りにも注意されていた。しばらくして気が付くとその集団はどこかに退散していた。

スモークと少しラディカルな連続ストロボ照明の後、全ては終了した。

ビールを１缶飲んだだけである。酔っているはずがない。素面なのに、踊りまくってしまった。これでもかと言うほど踊って暴れた。Tシャツは汗で濡れて、帰りのタクシーで一緒に行った人たちに汗臭い思いをさせてしまったに違いない。

久しぶりのコンサート、コンサートTシャツ（Tomatoデザインなんて期待していた）は売っていなくて買えなかったけれど、ああ、楽しかった。


I went to Underworld concert today (August 11, Tuesday). The venue was at Kool Haus (A part of the club, Guvernment). I have been to Kool Haus a couple of times before, but I think that tonight was the most enjoyable night I had there.

Actually, I need to work at night this week and next week, so I took even a day (night) off from work.

The concert was an all age event, but the start was really late. After they let people in, they had crappy music playing for an hour. An then, there was an opening act of a DJ. This DJ was doing something interesting but he played for an hour or so and it was a little too long, too. After waiting for long, Underworld appeared.

I saw Karl Hyde and Rick Smith the first time in live (I knew only their music then). They were not snobby at all and were really good performers on the stage.

I know only "Beaucoup Fish" (that I listen often even now) and I don't know their recent work, so I was a little worried if I could really enjoy the show. As a result, tonight show made me feel like buying their latest work through iTunes. It turns out just the artist's or record company's wish.

At the end of the show, A group of men in their 20s maybe started to dance a little way too wild and hit people around them (including me and my friend). I shouted at them to tell them not to push me. The group of men was warned by other people around them, too. After a while, when I realised, the group was gone somewhere.

After smoke and radical bright flashing lighting, the show ended.

I just had a can of beer tonight. I wasn't drunk at all. I was sober and I danced a lot the first time. I danced, danced, rested, and danced. The t-shirt I was wearing got so wet with my sweat. On our way back, people, with whom I went to the concert, must be uncomfortable with my sweat and smell on the cab.

Although I couldn't buy a concert T-shirt (I was expecting to see a t-shirt designed by Tomato) because they didn't sell it, I really really enjoyed the show. I will highly recommend their show in the future.
