Mies van der Rohe | ミーズ・ヴァン・ダー・ロー

The Toronto Dominion Centre, developed in 1960s, is located in the heart of the Financial District in Downtown Toronto. In this square, black towers erect holding a stone-covered garden and public arts in-between with a big shade.

From 2003 to 2004, when I worked at a restaurant as a kitchen assisntant, this garden gave me a rest for my long lunch break, glancing at better-looking-only-in-suits men and busy-walking-high-heel women.

Speaking of a rest, yes, I am enjoying my day-off with an extra from Thanksgiving weekend.

トロント・ドミニオン・センターはトロント中心部の金融街に６０年代に建てられたコンプレックスで、いくつかの高層の黒いタワーが石で覆われた中庭を取り囲むように立っています。中庭は高層ビルに囲まれているのででかい陰がいつもあって、ちょっとしたパブリックアートとともにその金融街で働く人たちの憩いの場になっています。冬はさすがに零下何十度なのでひとっこ一人いません（みんなモグラのように地下街を歩くのです）。

２００３年から１年半、レストランで働いてる時、スーツの人やらハイヒールの人を見ながらこの庭で良く休憩しました。

休憩というか休暇、久しぶりにエクストラな休日（月曜日がお休み）って嬉しいです。カナダのサンクスギビング・ウィークエンドです。
