今回帰国した際、Softbank が提供するプリモバイルなるプリペイドサービスを利用した。
２年前もプリペイド携帯を購入し持っていたのだが、3G（といわれても何がなんだかわからない）対応ではなく、３００円で３０日間「メールし放題」が使えないため、新たに買った。

成田に到着し Softbank のお店へ、プリモバイル専用の機種はたったの１つだった。プリペイドカード（３０００円）と携帯本体で約２万円した。

たったの２週間しかいなかったのだが、３０００円分まるまる使った。レンタル携帯だったらいくらしただろうと思うが、携帯を持っているのでまた日本に帰国したらカードを足せばすぐ使える利点がある。３００円で３０日間メールし放題はお得だった。

さて、カナダの携帯。
日本の友人たちが持つ iPhone に憧れ、いらないと思っていたのに、カナダに戻ってきて再度チェックした。
カナダでは Rogers (Fido) のネットワークで iPhone が使える。以前見た時と同じでやっぱり使用料金が割高になってしまう。しかも利用料金相当分、使用できない（必要もない）であろう自分が見える。

実際、利用料金を（そんなに使ってないので）今よりも少なくしたいのだ。幸い今利用してる携帯電話会社の２年契約も晴れて５月末に解消され、もう新規契約にも嫌気がさしている。iPhoneだと３年契約（長い）のでやはり選択肢から除外することにした。

今日近くのモールに行ってみたが、結局心決まらず帰ってきた。


I used Softbank's Premobile service when I was in Japan. I have already had a Japanese cell phone for a prepaid service, but the cell phone doesn't match to the 3G network (though, I don't really know what 3G make things different from the previous technology) and it doesn't work with the Premobile serivce and I can't use Premobile's 300 yen unlimited emailing for 30 days, so I bought a new phone.

At Narita Airport, I went to a Softbank store. There was only one type of phone available. It cost about 20,000 yen total with the phone and the 3,000 yen prepaid card.

I was in Japan only for 2 weeks but I used the whole amout of the prepaid card. I wonder how much it would have been if I rented a cell phone. Anyway, I bought the phone and I have it so I can recharge the amount and I can use the Premobile service right away next time when I am back in Japan. I really thought its 300 yen unlimited emailing service was a good deal, though.

And now, I am speaking about my cell phone in Canada.
Two of my friends in Japan got an iPhone. I started to want it again although I decided not to buy one in Canada. I checked Rogers/Fido websites again. Rogers/Fido is a career for iPhone in Canada. There was no change that the usage plan was still pricey. Plus, I didn't see any necessity to own an iPhone. After all, I wouldn't use iPhone and its services as much as I pay for the usage plan.

I actually want to lower my usage plan fee now because I don't use my cell phones and its services very much. I finally finished 2-year contract with my career and I don't really want to have another contract again. If I buy iPhone now, it will be 3-year contract price... 3 years are long. I will give up on it once again.

I went to a shopping mall nearby today, but I am still thinking about what I should get next.
