An Old Apartment

I visited my friend yesterday. My friend lives in a quiet and nice neighbourfood and I was excited because I have never visited in the neighbourhood by walk. I walked from the station, crossing a bridge over railway trucks, to the neighbourhood where neighbour's lawn is greener.

I lost sense of direction only a little bit, but I arrived at the apartment building. I buzzed and entered into a lobby of the apartment. I couldn't find where an elevator was located.

It was not easy to find it because the elevator was hidden behind the door with a knob. It was such an old building (in a good way). I asked my friend about the apartment and she told me that the apartment was a pre-wartime (although Canada was never a battlefield for WW II) building, but it was maintained fairy well.

My friend served me a cup of tea and nibbles. I enjoyed conversations with my friend in an apartment room where time flows slowly.

My friend's son was crying after waking up from a nap. I was thinking that he must have had a bad dream with looking at the shelf with picture books.

My friend's husband came home as well and there were English and Japanese in the air in the room. I don't have a good brain, so I sometimes lost words that I was looking for in both languages or I simply just get confused (lol). It is probably just a regular everyday for a family that each family member has a different cultural background like my friend's family.

On my way back to the station, I found a shortcut.
