財布の中のお札 | Bills in Wallet

僕は財布にあまり現金を持たない。

もしも財布を落とした時、真っ先に取られるのが現金だから。

ありがたいことに、カナダでは現金を持ち歩かなくても生活ができる。足りない時は、デビットカードかクレジットカード、それかATMは自分の銀行だと２４時間で手数料なしなのでいつでも引き出すことができるからである。

土曜日の夜に８０ドルを引き出した。
翌日、財布を調べるとお札は１５ドルしかない。
そんなに使ったのか！と思ってよくよく硬貨も調べると、納得した。

飲みに行くと２ドル硬貨と１ドル硬貨（それぞれTwonie（トゥーニー）とLoonie（ルーニー）という愛称がある））が増える。

２ドル硬貨は日本の５００円玉と同じ感じで、数えると結構な額になったりして驚く。

お札は無くなったけれど、硬貨で重くなった財布だった。


I don't usually have cash in my wallet.

It is because the cash will be taken out of your wallet if you lose it.
Luckily, I don't need to carry a lot of cash in Canada. When I need, I can use debit or credit card, or can withdraw money from the bank machine 24/7 with no service charge (if I use my own bank's bank machine).

I withdrew $80 on Saturday night.
The next day, I found only $15 in bill.

Did I use that much!?
Then, I checked coins as well. I could convince myself after counting coins.

At a bar or pub, you can get many coins for change.

Twonie is like Japanese 500 yen coin that you get surprised at the amount when counting.

There's no more bills but my wallet got really heavy with coins.
