ナイン・イレブン | Nine Eleven

友人のブログを読んでいて、すっかり忘れていたことに気がついた。

２００８年に訪れたニューヨークにはもちろんあの２つの塔はなく、新しい塔の建設が始まっていた。

２００１年９月１１日、僕はトロントのダウンタウンの西に位置する前の会社で働いていた。同僚がネットでニュースを知った。ネットには、シュールレアリズムの絵みたいに、頑丈なはずの建物から煙があがる写真が載っていた。

お昼休みに外へ出ると、遠くの通りを行くストリートカーが見えた。トロントの金融街から家に帰る人々で大混雑だったの覚えている。

もう８年経ったんだ。


I realised that I forgot it totally by reading my friend's blog.

When I visited New York City in 2008, there weren't the two towers at all. In the site, a construction of the new buildings had been started.

On September 11, 2001, I was working at a company that was located in the westend of downtown Toronto. My colleague found it on the internet. There was a surrealistic photo posted - a strong tall, building (at least we believed that it was strong enough) with smoke on the top.

On the same day, I went outside for my lunch break. I could see a streetcar on the street afar from where I stood. The streetcar was crowded and full of people heading home from the financial district.

It's been already 8 years.
