グリーンであること | Being Green

僕は今３０代の前半である。僕らの世代は、３年上の姉の世代である「団塊の世代Jr」ではない。日本ではロスト・ジェネレーションなんて呼ばれたり、北米ではジェネレーションＸから続く、ジェネレーションYなんて呼ばれたりしているそうである。が、そんなことは今はどうでもいい。

僕の世代の前後に生まれた人たちは、「将来、石油が枯渇する」なんて事を、学校などで学ばなかっただろうか。

環境保全、再生可能なエネルギー、リサイクル、云々。エコロジカルであることは、これからの僕らにとって必要不可欠であるのは相違ない。問題は、なぜ僕らの世代が前の世代のつけを支払わないといけないのか、である。

北米では、ベイビーブーマー（あえて言うと、日本での団塊の世代）達が、今の社会のだいたいを牛耳っている。彼らが経営する会社が雇用数を決め、給料を決め、電車賃を決め、ガソリン代を上げ、電気代を上げている。この１０年、賃金はさほど上がっていないのに、生活費や税金は上がる一方だ。

現在、トロントの電気代が、昨年比で、約２０％も上がっている。理由は、「もっとグリーンな新エネルギーに変換していくから」。しかも、なんとまあ偶然にも、今まで電気代に州の税金が課せられなかったのに、今年から課せられるようになる。きな臭さが大いに匂う。

政治家に言う、「グリーンになるのに金がかかる」とブレインウォッシュするのは今すぐ止めろ。


I am in my early 30s now.My generation is not "Dankai no Sedai (Japanese version of baby boomers) Jr." that my sister, who was born 3 years earlier, belongs to. My generation is called "lost generation" in Japan, and "generation Y" in North America.
Though, I don't care what we are called at the moment.

For those, who were born in around 1970s, didn't you learn or hear that oil would be drying up in the future at school, did you?

It will be necessary to be ecological in our future - saving the nature, new recycable energy, recycle materials, etc. My point is that - why does our generation need to pay for the previous geneartions' inconsiderations?

In North America, baby boomers take over most of our society. Companies, that are managed by baby boomers, decide number of employments, our salary, train fare, to raise a price of gas and a fee of electricity. We didn't see significant increase in our income in the last 10 years, but living expense and taxation are raised ceilingless.

Now, Toronto's power bill has been increased by about 20%, comparing to the last year bill.The reason of the increase is that - they using more new green energy sources.Besides, what a coincidence, Ontario's government will start to have taxation on electricity.It's very dubious, isn't it?

I tell you, politicians, to stop brainwashing us that being green costs a lot of money immediately!
