何を思う | What You Think

深夜の地下鉄で誰かが置きっぱなしにしていった新聞に目が止まった。

表紙を見ると日本の女性が被災地で立っている写真があった。

毛布をまとい何を思うのか。

胸が急に痛くなる。

日本で生まれ育ったという理由で、自分の家を、自分の町を失った悲しみは容易に想像できてしまう。

例えば、僕がこの女性であった時、僕は何を思うんだろうか、と。

I found a newspaper on the chair that someone left on the subway tonight around midnight.

In the cover page, there was a picture of Japanese woman standing in the middle of disaster area.

What is this woman in the blanket thinking?

My heart started to ache suddenly.

Because I was born and raised in Japan, it is very easy for me to imagine her sadness of loss of her house and her town.

For instance, if I were this woman in the picture, what would I have been thinking?
