Junction Arts Festival

I have moved to the west end of Toronto.

I learned that an arts festival would be held in the neighbourhood called the Junction, along Dundas Street West, west of Keele, that was located also in the west end and was close to where I live, from my friend's blog.

My friend, who is an active contemporary dancer in Toronto and the world wide, had a little street performance there.

I took a short bus ride from Dundas West subway station and got off at Keele and went up to Dundas West.

It was around 5:30 pm on Sunday. Dundas Street West was shut off all of the trafic and was pedestrians and cyclists friendly. By the time when I got there, booths were starting to close as the festival ended at 6pm on Sunday. There, I could see many people walking. There were many kinds of street performers and painters' and artists' booths along the street.

It wasn't hard at all to find my friend. Becasue of her sickness, she said that she didn't do what she wanted to do with her dance partner. In stead, she was doing emotionless pose-and-move-by-moments with wearing a yuurei (ghost) -look costume. She was surrounded by curious children. Later, a boy came up to her and asked her – "How can you not move or change your facial expression."

I should have been there earlier, I thought. I would definitely come back next September if I am in Toronto.
