今朝、メールをチェックをすると、母親から１通来ていた。

開けると、上の姪っ子だった。

僕の母親に入れ知恵されたかのような、「誕生日おめでとう」のメッセージ。

でも、嬉しい。

今年から、携帯を持つようになった姪っ子だが、メールアドレスは作ってもらっていない。

姉によると、少しでも料金を安くするためだとか。

姪っ子はショートメッセージを小学校の友達と使用するらしい。

僕がトロントに戻る時、空港で姪っ子が手紙をくれた。

トロントから、国際ショートメッセージはお金がかかるので返信は不要というメッセージと一緒に、僕はお礼に合計２通のショートメッセージを姪っ子に送った。

When I checked my email this morning, I found one from my mother.

The email was actually from my older niece.

The email was a happy birthday message that sounds like a one from my mother.

But, I am very happy to see it.

My niece started to use a cell phone from this year, but she isn't allowed to have an email address with her phone. According to my sister, it is to save her phone bill as much as they can.

My niece told me that she uses texting feature among her friends at her elementary school.

When leaving for Toronto, my niece gave me a letter at the airport.

In return, I sent total 2 text messages to my niece from Toronto, with a message – no need to reply because it will cost when sending an international text from your phone.
