引越し完了 | Done Moving

お引越しとは、紆余曲折があるもので、計画を立てていても時にうまく事が運ばない。

金曜日、インターネット接続のため、午前８時から午後１時過ぎまで、空っぽのアパートで待ちぼうけをした。インターネットの会社に２度電話し、２度目に僕の電話番号を控え間違えていることが発覚した。昼までに戻り、荷物の整理をしようと思っていた僕の計画は狂ってしまった。

土曜日、引越し当日、レンタカー屋で1ヶ月前からネット予約していたカーゴバンを借りれない事がわかった。が、運良く向かいの別のレンタカー屋にあったカーゴバンを借りれることになった。待った時間約２時間。雨が本格的に降り出し、濡れ鼠に。それでも、荷物の詰め込みを始めれば、坦々と進んだ。

アパートに到着、カーゴバンの車高が高過ぎて、地下駐車場に入れな事がわかった。もう、運び込むしかない。それでも、激しく降っていた雨は運良く上がった。

月曜日、インターネット会社に電話すると、結局、ケーブル会社の人が来なくても良かったらしく、もう使えるよと言われた。家に帰りモデムをつなげると問題なく接続された。

全ては、結果オーライだよ。
友人MとYとTのお陰で、無事、引越しが完了。大感謝！

僕は自分の荷物を極力減らしているけれど、今回の引越しでは、「人間一人生きるのに、こんなに物が必要なんだなぁ」とつくづく思いました。


When you move, even with a good planning, there would be some things that you couldn't control and execute the good plan that you have.

Last Friday, I waited for a cable guy for the Internet connection in my empty apartment from 8 am to a bit passed 1 pm. I called the provider and they realised that they had my phone number wrong at the second time when I called. My initial plan was to go back by the noon and start to pack the rest of my stuff, but of course, I had to change my plan.

Last Saturday, the moving day, we realised that we couldn't rent a cargo van that I made an online reservation a month ago. However, I was lucky that I could get another van at a different place. The total waiting time was about 2 hours. It started to rain harder and we got soaked. Though, once we started to start loading stuff, it went quite smoothly.

Arriving at the apartment, the height of the van was too high to enter the apartment's underground parking/loading area... The van was parked outside and we started to unload my stuff. The hard rain, though, it stopped fortunately by that time.

Today (Monday), I called the Internet service provider again and I was told that the service is active (without having a cable guy in). I connected the modem and it's in service now.

I would say my move wasn't a bad one. It was rather a good one, then after all.

I always try to reduce my stuff that I own, but I recognised again that we need lots of stuff just to live by ourselves in this move.
